If you do not want to use any 3rd party tool to delete EXIF data from a JPG, it is possible to do it manually from Photoshop or Lightroom. Unfortunately, the process is not easy but neither is it impossible.
To remove EXIF data, open the original photo in Photoshop and then select Edit > Export > Save for Web as... In the "Open" window that appears, select the JPEG format, the "web only" resolution and click "Save". If you want to change any of these settings, click on the "Save Options" button on the bottom of the "Export" window. Click OK to save the image.
If you save the image with an application like Photoshop, in most cases, the "Save Options" dialog will also show "Hide EXIF".
Now, open that image in Lightroom. In the right pane click on the small image of the "Stamp" button, open the sub-panel of "Collections". In the "New Collection" window that appears, create a new collection for EXIF and in the first image, click on the second icon from the right, "Add metadata to this image".
Select "EXIF" and click on "Done".
In the sub-panel that appears, click on the rectangle symbol, "Add metadata to this image" and choose "EXIF".
You are done. You can save the collection to your library. You can delete the image from Lightroom and close the project.
The image will appear as JPG EXIF-LEGIBLE in your Lightroom library, without any EXIF data. In the Photos module or even using a straight Copy module with a New Folder dialog, it will appear in the same EXIF-LEGIBLE
