Intentions for the next academic year: changes to the process of reregistration

Over the next few weeks we will be starting the reregistration process and publishing the fees for the academic year 2023-2024. You will receive a letter from me requesting that you follow a link indicating whether you intend for your children to continue at Britannica in 2023-2024.

We have decided to bring ourselves in line with other international schools in Budapest by introducing a seat retainer once you return your intentions confirming that you wish to remain at Britannica next year. This payment of the seat retainer secures your place at the school for the next academic year and is then deducted from the annual fees.

The reason for this change is due to the incredible demand for places for next year. The school is already full with a significant waiting list and applications are at record levels.
We will also, for the first time next year, have 2 classes in all year groups from 1-13.

As you can imagine, this is putting significant pressure on our admissions team and our facilities to try and support and help everyone interested in coming to Britannica.

To try and be fair and open with all our families with regards to the places that are available, we need to have a very clear picture about who is definitely going to be returning next year. The payment of the seat retainer gives you the security of knowing your children's places are reserved and us the ability to accurately and confidently communicate with potential new families about whether there are places available in the year groups they have applied to.
