AutoCAD [Latest]
Autodesk used the name of its parent company, The Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, in an effort to increase awareness of the new product, since the laboratory had recently acquired Autodesk. The name of the software application was changed from AutoCenter to AutoCAD Product Key in November 1983.
Autodesk first presented AutoCAD as a two-year product, offering a free development system, for introduction to the Windows 3.1 operating system, in February 1985, and two years of full time support. The company expected to sell between 30,000 and 50,000 copies of the first version. Autodesk charged $1,995 for the development system, and the full price of $4,495 for AutoCAD itself.
AutoCAD's developer version introduced a set of tools that supported an authoring workflow, which enabled users to create drawings in a process similar to the drafting workflow followed by architects. The authoring tools included the AutoCAD command system, object-based commands, the Graphical Input Toolbox, the 3D viewport, navigation and markup capabilities, and others. Unlike the earlier primary drafting applications, such as Draftsman, or the later text-based drafting applications such as DraftSight, AutoCAD used commands to place objects and other commands to move objects, edit objects and properties, draw bounding boxes, change views, assign colors, set levels of detail, etc. Some users also used the commands of other applications to construct elements that were included in a drawing.
By 1991, AutoCAD had become the most widely used CAD program, and its market share had overtaken that of competing CAD programs such as DGN, DIALOG, and ARCHICAD, according to the market research firm TechnoSavvy. In 1998, Autodesk reported a 39.1% share of the CAD market.
AutoCAD is shipped in both 32-bit and 64-bit versions, and has been released for Windows 9x, Windows NT, Windows 2000, Windows XP, and Windows 7 operating systems. Starting with AutoCAD 2009, the AutoCAD application can run in the background and provide real-time help to users.
By the early 21st century, many professional users had moved to the 64-bit versions of AutoCAD for better performance and for compatibility with the Windows XP x64 operating system. AutoCAD for Windows 10 is the first version of AutoCAD to support 64-bit operation

"Autocad Autodesk" is a free Autocad update.
 Other commands may be accessed by typing ALT+Q
The command line interface is useful when working with legacy software, including AutoCAD for the Mac and Windows. Accessing the command line is possible through the Options dialog.

I am not familiar with such terminology. But what you say sounds like more
than a short cut, a new way of _using_ Git. This is a new and rather
different, but possibly highly productive way of _making_ Git.
Now Git is a rather different beast than many of the repositories mentioned in
this thread, which is why I went with the more general term.

I have a small scale project that I've worked on with a friend for a long
time. The collaboration mostly revolved around emailing between two
developers. We'd usually stay in touch over email and eventually decided to
implement an API instead, so we could build the application based on a few
approved libraries.
From there, I moved to Bitbucket with a private project, because I think the
UI is nicer than Github and I can pay for the paid account because I want to
keep my code private.

Git is the plumbing. The command-line interface is the control panel for the
plumbing, which is centralized on one machine.
I'm not sure why you want to "drill down", but it seems more like project
management tool, not just source control. For those purposes, VCS is
unnecessary.
