WASHINGTON (AP) - House Republicans unveiled a $1.1 trillion tax cut plan Thursday, but leadership is giving few clues as to how it will get a vote in the Democratic-led Senate.
Rep. Kevin Brady, the top tax writer for the House Ways and Means Committee, said he had not spoken to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid about the plan yet. But Brady vowed the bill will be "very, very similar" to the version that passed the House last week.
The House was scheduled Thursday to begin debate on the measure. The House is expected to vote Friday on the plan.
