Unit 4 and 7-Talking heads

Scenario: This project gives you a chance to show us your skills that you have already as well as those developed since start of the course. You are a hopeful candidate applying to universities, drama/dance schools, or attending a casting for a performing job. You need to select, rehearse, refine and perform a contemporary monologue that will be filmed on location in and around the building. You will need to think about location, costume, and camera angles that will be required to communicate the monologue. With the monologue you will also use it as a stimulus to create a piece of movement – dance or physical theatre that represents the mood/story of the monologue using the techniques of manipulation of movement and structure. Or you could sing a song that relates to the monologue focusing on the intention and meaning of the song connecting to the audience. This choice depends on your specific attributes as a performer and to be able to justify the reasons behind your choice of second solo. Unit 7 Aim: To provide the student with an opportunity to critically analyse, integrate and apply the knowledge and understanding acquired in the previous units and to explore the specific skills and attributes required for their own personal practice. Unit 4 Aim: To provide the student with an introduction to the investigation of both historical and contemporary contexts and perspectives that influence the development of ideas within the performing arts.
