Time to rethink your radio station plan!

Unless you are the very favorite music station in your area, your audience is also inundated with tens of thousands of radio stations - most of which are barely active, and others that are more active than yours.

About six years ago, I ran a very interesting experiment on this blog: I passed the text and photos of Richard Bowditch's Backwoods Boy to my wife Jennifer. What happened? Well, Jennifer read the blog (with me kind of looking over her shoulder), she understood the project's meaning, and she responded. Here's what I said in a post on October 20, 2003:
So my wife, Jennifer, read (and replied) to my post about the book "The Backwoods Boy" by Richard Bowditch.
The book is really great, I believe. I mean, I might not think so if I had not been thinking about this project for the past few weeks.
It is interesting how people meet and react to things that are important to you. It makes me think that sometimes people don't even really seem to "get" the meaning of something until they look at it for themselves. [This is what I think, anyways... look at it if you want to believe otherwise].
So I was very excited when Jennifer, who I think has a pretty good intuitive mind, read the blog post and understood the project, and then got in contact with me.
It's a great thing to be able to contribute to the arts community in this way. (Not to say I was a complete slacker prior to this project, but I was... somewhat....)
If your life is creative, you can make it happen. This project has made me think about this, and see it.
When I read Jennifer's email, I quickly typed up a long reply. It was such a positive reply that I think I forgot what I had already been saying in my first comment about "the meaning of something," and being a slacker... I continued on with my original thoughts:
