AutoCAD for the Amiga platform was released in 1990, for the Apple Mac Classic in 1992, for the Atari ST in 1993, and for the Windows and Linux platforms in 1996. The first version for Windows was for Windows 3.0 in 1996.
Pricing and version history
AutoCAD was originally priced at about $1,000 for the Apple II (or at the higher prices of that era), and about $5,000 for the IBM PC. AutoCAD version 2.0 was the first release to be priced at the standard CAD pricing structure, at $1,500. The transition to a standard CAD pricing structure resulted in large growth in its market share, which was at first 40 percent, but rose to over 75 percent within 5 years.

AutoLISP 
AutoLISP is an AutoCAD extension language developed by Chuck Syverson. He was a software developer at AutoDesk in the 1980s who is responsible for the introduction of AutoCAD in 1984.  AutoLISP was the first programming language supported by AutoCAD. AutoLISP code is not compiled, but runs natively in AutoCAD as machine code. It is a pure interpreted language, with no compiler. AutoLISP came to its demise when AutoDesk announced their decision to not develop further AutoCAD add-on products based on AutoLISP. The reason for this is that AutoLISP is based on Lisp (an esoteric programming language) and as such, it would have been difficult for AutoDesk to maintain a team to support it. This meant that the add-on product in its final form could no longer run AutoLISP code and it would have to be rewritten in a suitable language to run on the company's.NET framework.
