Day 3
This third day was a more hands on day about ‘Tell me a story!’, grammar games and the valuable of songs/music in your lessons.

In the first daypart we got to know some short poetry and rhymes and how to apply activities with it with our group of children back home. Storytelling can be done alle day and for every age and it means more than reading a story.

There were experiences from teachers that teaching grammar is boring. After the second daypart no one had to say that anymore! We’ve learned that practising grammar can be done easily on a wat it’s attractive for the children.

After lunch it was a musical afternoon. What can we do more with a (top 40) song, besides listening to it? What about counting the chorus and do some mathematics with it, teach about the rhyme structure and complete (end) parts of a song, look a clip and let them write down for example professions and activities en let them combine them.
On this way music can be used to a lot of other methodologies.
