Week 3 reflections (22-1-2021)
  In this lesson, we have discuss the functions of gut microbes, especially for infants. The ways of giving birth also affect the level of microbes for infants. It is better to use vaginally deliver rather than C-section, as the number of microbes for baby will be much higher. And there are variety of factors will affect the microbes composition such as gestational age, living area or family factor, we should be aware of it and maintain the optimum number of microbes in body. In other hands, we have discussed the situation of dog-owning family, the early exposure to little dirt help children to prevent allergies or respiratory disease. 
  After this lesson, I have changes my point of view towards gut microbes. Before the lesson, i think it is used for us to digest the foods so that to provide sufficient  nutritions to our body. But now I understand that gut microbes help us to prevent different types of diseases and it is especially important for infants. If I become a mother in the future, I will choose to use vaginally deliver method to born my baby, so that he or she will have more gut microbes to protect themselves. Also, I realized that the microbes from dogs can be benefited to our health from preventing disease. It change my concept that having a dog will may the environment dirty and producing more and more microorganisms. I will share this concepts to my family and friends so that they can understand more between our daily life and microbes.
