Quaver Lesson Plans Week 5 Ostinato

This week we will be using Ostinati and barred instruments for Intermediate classes. They will be introduced to minor key and start to build on musical elements. Our new song is Ah Poor Bird. They will learn the melody and words - later to scaffold as a Round. Second half of class students will play ostinati on the barred instruments, learning procedures and reviewing proper technique. Next week we can add Pumpkin Bones Orff Arrangement. K and 1st will add sound blanket to In The Tall Tall Grass after they learn how to play each instrument with proper technique (and playing on cue). Second grade will learn definition of Rhythm and grasp understanding of Steady Beat VS Rhythm. Their playing activity will be on World Drums again playing Counting Stars Rhythm Play Along to give opportunity of mastery of reading and playing.
