Wale has never lacked confidence. Over the years, he's spoken out on a few separate occasions to challenge the world's view of him, arguing that he deserves to be mentioned with the greats. He's giving himself another chance to convince the critics this summer, so maybe the narrative will turn around soon.

Are you excited for more new music from Wale? Wale’s upcoming album Folarin 2 has gotten an official drop date. A few months back, the D.C. rapper shared via Twitter that the album was in the works. He previously tweeted, “#Folarin2 this summer.” Obviously, that release was scrapped as the newest date that we can confirm is October 22, 2021.

On Monday, October 4th, Wale dropped the video for “Poke It Out” with J. Cole. The song samples Q-Tip’s and J Dilla’s “Vivrant Thing” so it’s not surprising that the video would continue to pay homage. In the video, we see Wale cruising, doing Q-Tip’s famous head bob. There are also plenty of women and, of course, an appearance from track co-star J. Cole.
