Reducing jail population, new trash fees, alcohol licensing changes debated

The Macon-Bibb County Commission discussed reducing jail population during COVID-19, boosting coroner's staff and finding funds for pauper funerals. They enacted changes for solid waste companies and alcohol licensing near churches and schools. Items approved will go on a consent agenda for a final vote March 16.
