This analysis uses data from a NodeXL extract plus hand searching of Twitter using an internet browser to look for replies and related tweets that did not use the official hashtag (e.g. used @esso39, ESSO39 (without hashtag) or #ESSO2019 instead), to produce a "top tweet" summary of #ESSO39.

Tweets below are included if they meet the following criteria:

At least 4 retweets on 9 October
At least 3 retweets on 10 October
At least 3 retweets on 11 October
Or at least 5 replies between 9-11 October
And not duplicating earlier content

They are listed chronologically as far as possible, except when they are replies to an earlier tweet adding new content.

The approach has identified a lot more content and contributors than a search based only on the hashtag. A paper describing a more complete analysis of the 389 tweets identified in the process is being prepared. Some useful content is buried so deep in tweet exchanges that it will not have been viewed by the majority of conference tweeters. Examples of how to find such content will be provided in the paper.

The top 20 tweeters (by number of retweets received) based on the two methods are listed below. Explanations for inclusions in this list (e.g. sj_chapman tweet) are provided in more detail below. (The details will be updated once I have completed the analysis - I am still finding relevant tweets in a thorough review of the posts).
