The call to adventure
Over the years PDNorth had become bigger than its original objective as a professional exchange network. I grew increasingly passionate about it seeing it as a conduit for practitioners to find their feet and voice in FE. In the last year, due to funding reductions we condensced our team and some roles merged. I took the helm of PDNorth and had big shoes to fill!
Over the years, we had created in-house opportunities as stepping stones for practitioners to share their reflections, resources and research and we collated opportunities from further afield in a monthly newsletter. However, as the end of the programme drew upon us, so did the end of our funding and with it our passionate team and resouces.
After our huge end of programme celebration in 2020, I was left holding the PDNorth flag high (on behalf of CCCand the legacy team) and I was insistent that the energy from previous years would not be lost, and PDNorth needed to continue on.
