A Snapshot of Nicolas Maduro's Victory Speech: Miraflores Place, Caracas, May 20, 2018

Nicolas Maduro thanks the Venezuelan people his re-election. "This is the 24th victory in 19 years, won by a powerful, unified movement. How many times have they underestimated the revolutionary people?"

He calls for a "national dialogue" to be convened tomorrow for "national reconciliation."

Maduro vows to dedicate himself to "government in the streets," to promote economic recovery with a "new model of economic developmentn," and to be built by "all sectors" including the working class and business class.

Venezuela's president also congratulates PSUV, PCV, PPT and other allies for victory. He says election is proof that the Venezuelan people "never surrender" amid war and threats. He calls the vote a "historic victory." ⬇
