When he started using it, he discovered that the help system really sucked. That is, the information he needed wasn’t located anywhere. In the Help menu, all he saw was “How do I get started?”, and “How do I quit?”. No one ever thought to add “Where do I find the information I need?”
That wasn’t good for Bob, because he could have very easily spent hours trying to figure out how to do something, and not getting anywhere.
Fortunately, Bob is a pretty intelligent guy, so he just said, “Well, I guess I’ll figure it out for myself.”
And he did.
Here’s what he did: he started out reading the help files and going through the tutorials. But he couldn’t find anything specific to his situation. So, he decided to use Google to search for information, and found this article, titled “Plug outlets in electrical systems”:

DWG files are a native file format of AutoCAD, and support not only drawing files (with external or proprietary formats), but also the DWG database, a binary file that stores drawing properties and management information. The DWG file format allows AutoCAD to store all types of information needed to edit, combine, and manage objects and drawing information. AutoCAD stores drawing information in a DWG file. The original DWG file format was created by AutoDesk in 1989, and was the basis of AutoCAD until 2009. The DWG database format used by AutoCAD was designed by Steve Bennett and Kevin Eagan, and was based on the ISO 9797 standard. The goal of AutoCAD DWG database was to store information for use in applications as well as in AutoCAD, and to support interoperability with other programs such as MicroStation.
The DWG file format supported with the native AutoCAD and AutoCAD LT product was later updated to support DXF for both Windows and macOS. In the late 1970s, the first commercial use of DXF and the user interface called DWG-1 was created by Focal Software, and was used for plotting basic engineering drawings.
