The primary outcome measures included child health, perceptions of child health, stunting and stunting perceptions, and child health indicators. Twenty-six per cent of children perceived their health to be poor, although their actual health status was rated by caregivers to be good. Children who perceived their health to be good were significantly less likely to have experienced diarrhoea in the past 2 weeks compared with children who perceived their health to be poor (OR = 0.71, 95% CI 0.54-0.94).
