Directors UK at Sheffield Doc/Fest: How to Keep Control in the Cutting Room
Intrusion by commissioning executives and lawyers in the cutting room is today an almost inevitable part of the director’s experience. Multiple sets of notes and interference in the edit can leave a director with a piece of work that they have no ownership over and where there is no sense of the director’s vision. Directors UK returned to Sheffield Doc/Fest on Monday 8 June to host a session looking at the methods employed by directors to ensure that they keep control of their documentary throughout the edit.
