Editors are often in a powerful position to add to society's collective knowledge through publishing. But how conscious are we about the impact of the work that passes through our hands? Every choice we make about a manuscript either confirms or denies biases, perceptions, and working knowledge of who we are and how we move about in the world. This session is an examination of how we treat the written word and what we can do to effect change. Through inclusive editorial standards and the informed decisions that we make about imagery and design, we can help promote richer publications that strengthen the power of our voices.
