In this session, our aim was to complete a full run through of our show including costumes. This is a good idea because then everyone can get used to the changes in costume and also the scene changes. My personal target for the session was to have an aesthetic awareness and to apply all my skills i have learnt over previous units in order to complete a successful run through. I am going to think about my characters mannerisms and go full out on all the dance routines. I would say that the run through went really well as we were able to make it to the end of the show. My strengths during the run through was being able to remain in character and to not forget my lines. I was also confident when singing meaning i was able to project my voice. A weakness of mine was not being able to complete my quick change in time. I am going to improve this next time by having half of my costume already on so that it is easier for my to change into. I am also going to try and be calm so that I am not panicking and wasting time. The feedback which i was given was is don’t let the scenes fall flat if someone forgets a line. To improve this i am hoping to step in and be helpful to try and prompt other people with their lines.

In this session we decided it was a good idea to go through the transitions between each scene so that the show can run smoothly as one. One of my strengths this lesson was being able to stay focussed and help sort out the transitions while also putting myself forward to take some of the set off to help the Technicians. One of my weaknesses this session was not being as helpful as i could of by holding back in giving my ideas. Next time to improve this i am going to make sure i help and put my ideas across.

In todays session we carried on where we last finished off by continuing to block the dances with the set and staging. This was helpful as we were able to be cautious and know where the set was so that we didn’t bump into anything and injure ourselves. This went very smoothly and quickly as we all remained focussed. After this as a company we decided that doing a full run through would be best to get us used to running it as a show. My strengths this run through was being able to remain in character and stay focussed. Looking back at past run through i can see that i am developing my character and getting used to performing the show. Something that i can improve on is getting used to using my facial expressions while I’m dancing. For example, In America i need to connect my face with movements. To help other people out this session I practised with Maddie, Rhianna and Sophie to rehearse the lyrics for Gee Officer Krupke so we could all be familiar with them.
