Aurora is safe at last!

Now her rehabilitation will begin. First she will undergo 45 days of quarantine during which she will rest after the long journey, get used to her new diet, receive a tailored enrichment programme and receive the health care she so desperately needs.

Once quarantine is over, Aurora will be moved to a large indoor area known as a den. It will be the largest space she has ever known since being poached from the wild 15 years ago as a cub.

Here she will be able to build her strength and shortly after, when her carers feel she is ready they will ascertain which community of bears may be a good match for her.

Then, at her own pace, Aurora will be ready to take her first steps out on grass and roam a large, grassy, outdoor enclosure full of trees and play structures.

Rehabilitation from cruelty can be a long process, but each individual bear reacts differently. Aurora will be given all the time she needs and she can know we will never give up on her. Her new life starts here.
