How do we teach ?
You will be exposed to lots of different methods of teaching, with different staff members within SHES that all have their own styles.
One key buzzword that you may hear a lot is 'Blended Learning'. This just means the blend of online learning (often done at your own pace and in your own time or 'asynchronously') and on-campus learning (often done with others, in-person at the same time or 'synchronously' i.e. timetabled). Sometimes there might also be online synchronous teaching; for example a time-tabled talk delivered online that you attend. 
Ultimately, there are now more ways in which degrees are delivered that mixes between online content and on-campus delivery.
Lectures
These can be small and/or large lectures depending on the module - you may have 100+ students in some modules when they are shared with other programmes in the Department. These can be timetabled on campus, timetabled online or available online asynchronously.
Practical Sessions
Within Sport, Health and Exercise Sciences, our practical classes are where you can gain lots of the hands-on experience and skills. These can range from conducting physiological tests in the laboratory (Sport and Exercise Science), cooking classes (Sport and Exercise Nutrition), strength and conditioning workshops (Sports Coaching and Performance) and manual therapy (Sports Rehabilitation and Physiotherapy).
Seminars
These are often small groups where there is more opportunity to discuss with each other and with the staff leading the session on the topics you are learning. It's not as easy to have discussions in large lectures and so seminars are good ways to share your thoughts and questions in a smaller, more informal environment
Placement 
The opportunity to gain focused work experience is really important in your development and placement is a part of all our programmes.
