When you create an AutoCAD drawing, you create geometric entities called components, and then you create relationships between components.
AutoCAD allows you to create two types of drawings. You can create 2D drawings, and you can create 3D drawings. 2D drawings are created in Drafting mode and 3D drawings are created in Modeling mode. You use the same tools to create both types of drawings.

The AutoLISP language, which is only supported by AutoLISP, is not object-oriented, and is fundamentally incompatible with the core object-oriented concepts of the C++ programming language.
 At present, this means that non-AutoCAD programmers cannot write object-oriented extensions to AutoCAD (or AutoLISP) in any meaningful way.
The main argument for AutoCAD usage is that there is a large base of AutoCAD users worldwide, whose support base has created the AutoCAD ecosystem. There are over 1.3 million AutoCAD users, of which there are over 750,000 active users.
