Greetings Donalda School families,

At this time of the year I am often asked how is the school year going? This year I have been responding with the answer, "really well." From my vantage point, I am thrilled with the culture change taking place in the school with regards to literacy, specifically reading. Students seem to be enamoured with the books that they are reading, especially the older students. As a staff, our challenge is to keep this momentum continuing through the months and years ahead. Through the data collected in some of the reading assessments, we have noticed a trend where Clearview students often get off to a great start in their reading at the young age levels but start to fall behind as they reach the junior high ages. We are hoping that some of the initiatives and programs we are running at Donalda School this year will help our students thrive during these years.
