Torrential rain caused the Hula River to spill from its banks, damaging thousands of homes in the Hidalgo province and cutting the power to a hospital where more than a dozen patients died. Fifteen of the dead were Covid patients on respiration lost their lives when the system supplying oxygen ceased to function due to the loss of electricity. Many thing could be done to avoid this type on incident that they can not control. Those solutions could also avoid more deaths. The hospital has been caring 56 patients, half of them suffering from Covid 19. Many Rescue teams such as soldiers and firefighters came to their rescue, steering boats through Tula's floated streets. They were rescuing people out of their floated homes as well. The town's central market was completely flooded. A jumble of semi-trailers, buses, tanker, trucks and cars lodged against each other semi-submerged at odd angles in rushing water in one location  beside the river. More than 40 patients in the public hospital were evacuated by emergency service workers on Tuesday and Initial assessment showed that 2,000 houses had flood damage. Majority of the deaths were Covid 19 patients. The deaths occurred when flooding caused by the days of rain made the Tula River to overflow and knock out electricity at the hospital. Water flooding the building also damaged the generator which would have provided an alternative power supply for the oxygen machines on which patients were dependent. This is a problem that they can not control and they need to find a way to solve this reoccurring problem.
