UN Under-Secretary-General for Peacekeeping Operations, Jean-Pierre Lacroix visits India, 2018

India is the largest cumulative contributor of the United Nations Peacekeeping troops globally and has participated in over 50 peacekeeping missions. Approximately 6,693 peacekeepers from India are currently serving in 10 peacekeeping missions across the globe. Jean-Pierre Lacroix, UN Under-Secretary-General for Peacekeeping Operations, visited India in June 2018 to thank the government of India for its commitment and service towards peacekeeping and share updates on the UN Secretary-General’s Action for Peacekeeping (A4P) initiative,which aims to make peacekeeping more focused, safer and stronger. Mr. Lacroix also met with senior officials from the Indian government, military and police officials.
