Yet standards of beauty can be traced back to the Paleolithic period. One of the first representations of a human figure portrayed during this time is the “Venus of Willendorf.” This Paleolithic era sculpture can be described as one of the first’s symbols of an idealized woman. The four-inch statuette seems to have been carefully sculpted with exaggerated breasts, stomach, and hips.
 Being one of the first illustrations or representation of a human being body which mainly focuses on a woman's physical appearance. The small figurine conveyed many physical characteristics that resemble those of a woman. Several parts of her body are crudely depicted such as her arms as well as her feet. Though her head is shown, her facial characteristics such as the nose, mouth, eyes, lips as well as ears are not portrayed.
