How does AutoCAD work?
An Autodesk workstation consists of several subsystems, one of which is the Autodesk software application. The Autodesk software application, or CAD suite, includes software programs designed to meet the needs of users of CAD applications. With the Autodesk software application, users can create 2D and 3D drawings, and manage drawings and associated files.
An AutoCAD design workflow involves users creating 2D drawings and 3D models, adjusting and correcting drawings, sharing and collaborating with colleagues and clients, and outputting the drawings to various outputs, such as desktop publishing (DTP), 2D/3D printing, and other industrial uses.
At the core of every AutoCAD workstation is a graphics display. A graphics display is a computer or electronic device that allows a user to visualize 3D geometric objects using a monitor and appropriate software. The display can vary widely in size, from the smallest portable display to the largest large-format display.
The graphics display is connected to the computer by an interface device such as a display or a graphics card. An interface device is a specialized electronic device with a keyboard, mouse, or other user interface that allows users to interact with the computer by using the display. These devices were developed to provide a fast, user-friendly, and efficient way for users to communicate with the computer.
Although a single interface device may control multiple components, such as the display and mouse, a single interface device can control only one computer component. Most graphics displays have a display resolution, a number of horizontal and vertical pixels that together display an image. The resolution is determined by the number of horizontal and vertical pixels. Today's graphics displays have very high resolutions, up to and beyond 4K.
A graphics display may also have several types of input devices. The main input devices are a mouse, an optical mouse, a trackball, and an electric pen.

6D is the sixth component of Autodesk's AutoCAD Free Download series of architectural drafting products. This component is known as being "geometric modeling" or "geometry". 6D is marketed as providing drafting services to architects and building engineers, allowing them to create models that are visually correct and in 3D.  This technology allows the creation of complex geometric models and shapes, such as the creation of architectural details (e.g., wall mouldings, trim and door heights) in 3D that may be created with Xrefs (in-line drawings) that link to 3D models.
6D's architecture allows for the creation of Autocad drawings with dynamic data, and its algorithm can automatically read data from Xref drawings. 6D allows for the creation of floor plans, elevation, section and details, as well as quick mapping and dimensions. 6D's architecture also enables the creation of 3D and 2D assemblies. It can be used to document architectural space and to provide a route for planning and building management.
Unlike other CAD systems, 6D allows users to store and load information, such as a project's history and customized settings. Autodesk says that it is unique in the marketplace, as it is an architect-specific drafting package that has a price tag of $10,000 USD, and that its technology has not been adopted by any other platform.
6D provides some similarities to the popular sketching application, AutoCAD's "sketch" feature. 6D is the result of a merger between SKETCH and Autodesk DWG, Autocad's desktop CAD design product, which was first released in 1989.
In 2018 Autodesk replaced version 6D.

DWG is Autodesk's primary 2D CAD design application. It is available for Windows, macOS and Linux. DWG uses vector-based graphics and does not use a coordinate system. It allows the drawing of 2D representations of objects. DWG is widely used by architects, engineers, drafters, hobbyists and students.
DWG was developed by Autodesk, the developer of Autocad, and was released in 1989.
