I consider the first book i read to be The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan. And thus started the amazing journey, from defeating Cronos to defeating Gaia, Loki (the actual norse one not the Marvel one) , Apophis, and finally (yet) making Apollo a god again. 
Throughout all the series and books, it wasnt just about the story, it was the characters, the feelings, the adrenaline, the humour, EVERYTHING was epic! in the process i became kind of a Greek mythology expert (like everyone who has the these books XD). after a lot of quizzes and test, the internet decided me to be a child of athena. https://www.readriordan.com/2017/10/12/what-god-are-you-descended-from/
