The first versions of AutoCAD were written using the LISP programming language. A modern commercial version of LISP, Common Lisp (an extension of Lisp developed by Guy Steele, and later by his students), was released in 1987. In 1991, AutoCAD was rewritten using the AutoLISP programming language. AutoLISP is an extension of LISP with features for real-time programming.
The first commercial release of AutoCAD was in December 1982. The first version, ACAD 1.1, was a desktop app written in AutoLISP that ran on 286-based desktop computers. In March 1983, the first version of the Macintosh-based AutoCAD, ACAD 1.2, was released. This version was designed for Macintosh computers and was written in Maclisp, a derivative of AutoLISP. The first version of the 16-bit PC-based AutoCAD, ACAD 1.3, was released in April 1983. This version used a revised version of Maclisp.
In 1984, Charles Simonyi left Xerox to form Visible Language Systems (VLS) with VLS 1.0, a new Lisp version, released in June 1985. VLS 1.0 was the first commercial Lisp, and enabled the creation of the first commercial CAD program, "VisiCalc", written in Lisp and released in November 1985.
By 1986, two full-scale CAD programs were written in Lisp: UCSD-Pascal/GKS and VLS.
The new version, AutoCAD 1.4, was released in March 1987. This version introduced many features, including stream processing, text processing, database support, and the ability to import and export PostScript and TIFF files. AutoCAD 2000 was first released on March 27, 1996. It was developed by Axxis Technology, (now a division of Autodesk), and published by Autodesk.  Axxis technology was founded in 1992 by Alex Bernstein, Martin Daniel and Inderjeet Singh. The first version of AutoCAD was released in 1989.
AutoCAD has undergone a number of revisions since it was originally released. The most significant improvements were made in version 2013, released on July 18, 2011.

When I started to design my own Role Playing game, I ran into many difficulties that were not present with a traditional role playing game. One of the things that is very different between a traditional RPG and a new one from scratch is this:
A lot of original RPGs are made for beginner role players. This means that the rules are generally simpler, they have lower difficulty levels, and they give the player a relatively free hand to design their characters as they see fit. This is often accompanied by the inclusion of either an extensive GM screen or nothing at all.
