Macon-Bibb Commission 6/4/2024

After no one showed up to comment on Mayor Lester Miller's $211.6 million Fiscal Year 2025 budget, the Macon-Bibb Commission passed all items on Tuesday's agenda. Commissioners are proceeding with plans to demolish old buildings at Middle Georgia Regional Airport in Phase 1 of constructing a new Fixed Base Operations facility. The County also accepted Embraer's new lease with the Macon-Bibb County Industrial Authority and received $2.9 million in Georgia fuel tax revenue in Local Maintenance and Improvement Grants and another $48K from the Georgia Department of Transportation to beautify the interchange at Avondale Mill Road and Ga. 247. The Commission also earmarked $300K from the general fund to repair the roof at the Macon Coliseum and allocated $174K for IT cloud services. The Macon-Bibb County Fire Department also is getting nearly $165K in SPLOST funds for breathing apparatus. Here are highlights from the meeting captured in social media posts send during the proceedings.
