The use of AI in every industry is increasingly prevalent, and it’s essential that we educate our staff and students for an AI-driven future. AI will significantly impact the types of jobs available in the workforce, how we train people to do these jobs, and how we will need to work with students to prepare them for their future. Attendees will leave with a toolkit of resources to use with staff and students. Session 1: Where We’ve Been The History of AI in a nutshell, including types of artificial intelligence, demystifying Generative Pre-trained Transformer (GPT), digital twins, how students are using AI and how they view AI. Session 2: Pack Your Bags for an AI-Driven Workforce Learn about the changing landscape of work and projected changes for society. How will AI impact the career pathways that we are equipping students to enter? Also, what can it do for educators? How can AI create efficiencies in work and lessen the time-consuming tasks for teachers? Session 3: Developing Your AI Road Map Considerations for school and district leaders as well as classroom teachers in how to address AI limitations and the bias in machine learning. What are ethical issues that need to be addressed? Session 4: How can we Ensure that Students are Equipped for their AI Future? How is education transforming to keep up with the changes? What are the skills that will make the greatest impact, and how can we rethink assessments? Rachael Mann speaks and writes about disruptive technology, AI, CTE, STEM, and careers. Rachael is the host of the NCLA Podcast, where she interviews the leading CTE experts from across the continent and shares best practices in career and technical education. Rachael holds an MA in educational leadership and has 14 years of classroom teaching experience in a range of subjects, including child development, science, technology, and culinary arts.
