Verbal
-Refrain from interrupting (Let them finish before you speak).
-Questions (so you can understand the topic even more).
-Door openers (these are phrases that show your interested and keep the other person talking).
-Paraphrase (what the other person has said to see if your both on the same page).
-Short affirmations (such as 'I see' or 'I understand') especially in deep conversations.
Non-verbal
-Nodding (To show that you are still engaged).
-Taking Notes (if you're in an appropriate situation for this).
-Use facial expressions (To show your interest in the topic).
-Note your posture (If you're slumped, the speaker isn't going to think your very interested).
