This book Barrons New York State Grade 6 ELA is the best book i ever got for my kid, who is in 6th grade. For the past couple of years I have purchased tons of books in preparation for the exams. Scholastic, Spectrum, NYS State Test Practice, etc.... Hundreds of dollars worth of purchases, while i find some of those useful, THIS ONE IS simply the best!!!!FIRST HALF of the book is step by step explanation what the state test is, a lot of necessary information about ELA, examples and questions, that are answered in the BEST way i have ever seen!!!It also contains 2 PRACTICE TEST - EACH divided by 3 BOOKS (1st day exam, 2nd day exam and 3rd day exam) TIMES 2.It has the ANSWER KEYS, but the answers are SO WELL written, I was amazed! It gives you suggestions of what and HOW to write on the short and long extended questions (essays).This book is definitely worth every cent, I also presented it to the teachers of my kids NYC public school. They also liked it (I got the MATH exam book too, which is equivalent in greatness to this one!)The book with its answer keys and examples leaves out the doubt if you (your 6th grader) is doing things right.Definitely a recommendation!
