Animals are a necessary component in making the world a better environment.  As pets, they make lifelong companions who we can look at as family. In choosing these companions we must make sure that we get them from places that treat them without harm. If they are on a farm, they could make for a great food supply, under the right circumstances. It’s important to buy food from farmers who treat animals well, keep them in good conditions, and slaughter them humanely. Wild animals create roles that keep ecosystems striving. It is our responsibility to protect their natural habitat against pollution and other hazards. Whatever action an animal may do, big or small, impactful or miniscule, they deserve to be treated with care and respect. They mean as much to the earth as humans do.
