The AutoCAD Crack For Windows suite includes a large set of commercial drawing tools and utilities that are based on the idea of a “job,” which is the CAD operator’s particular task. For example, a DWG (AutoCAD Drawing) file is a set of drawing components, so the DWG job might include a DWG drawing component, as well as line and rectangle drawing components, annotations, text, dimensions, grids, linetypes, styles, blocks, filters, and many other CAD operators. The job and its components can be moved, copied, scaled, resized, and saved in many different ways.
A DWG job can be saved as an unformatted drawing file and viewed with a standard application that displays a drawing component, such as a DGN, PDF, or DXF file. In addition, there is an AutoCAD or AutoCAD LT version of each of those applications. These applications can also open files in different formats (DXF, DWG, PDF, etc.) and display the components of a DWG or other drawing.
Drawings are named by the format in which they are saved. For example, a DWG file might be named DWG_1.dwg, while a DGN file might be named GDD_1.dgn.
Some types of drawing components can be edited using a WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) graphical user interface (GUI) editor, which enables the user to see the drawing components as they would appear in a finished drawing.
For those drawings saved in a file format other than DWG, AutoCAD LT, or DGN, a conversion utility is available that will convert the drawing into a DWG format.
The largest and most valuable part of the AutoCAD suite is the ability to perform tasks using a graphical user interface, including editing and manipulating drawing components using mouse-driven pointing devices and keyboard input. The new version of AutoCAD, AutoCAD 2017, introduces a 3D-modeled user interface.

The original AutoCAD was introduced as a Windows-only application. Since then, many third-party developers have produced similar applications that support Windows, Macintosh, and Unix systems.
