Our Study
Assessing local e-government maturity is still in its early stages and is rather uncommon, despite the presence of well-established systems for evaluating national e-government development progress. A greater emphasis should be placed on evaluating local government's online presence in cities, which is a critical part of e-government. Examining the role of cities as service providers and city portals as the fundamental mechanism for e-government in such situations is a logical starting point.
Our initial chosen focus is the latest charter city in Cavite which is the City of General Trias, whose local government has undergone some technology upgrade and initiatives as prompted by the COVID-19 pandemic, where the limited face-to-face interaction has forced governments to be innovative and creative in delivering government services to continue serving the public.
