Read, Write, Create with Visuals; Visual Literacy

The basic definition of visual literacy is the ability to read, write, and create visual images, both static and moving. We will look at some approaches to help you come up with activities to use visual texts and teach visual literacy in the classroom. Visual literacy is about language, communication, and interaction. Visual media is a linguistic tool with which we communicate, exchange ideas, and navigate our highly visual digital world. We will explore memes, posters of all kinds and infographics, and the tools for creating them.
