AutoCAD Crack Free Download was created by Paul Horner, an engineer at the Autodesk company (formerly Parc Engineering) in San Rafael, California. Horner had wanted to develop a new type of CAD program to compete with the then dominant AutoCAD Crack Mac. He was inspired by work done by Arthur Shantz at Tektronix, and the work of Paul Doherty at Bell Labs.
The first AutoCAD was released in December 1982. At the time the program was targeted at automotive design, building design, and architecture firms and was used by engineers for design and drafting. AutoCAD 1.0 was released on desktop systems with built-in graphics hardware such as the Apple II, MS-DOS, and the TI99/4A (also known as the TI99/4C).
Prior to 1982, CAD and related software was used almost exclusively by engineers working in large companies. Horner recognized that in 1982 the market was becoming more diverse and wanted to target new markets. He created the name AutoCAD, which means "automated CAD". He was initially inspired by the Automated CAD system from the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.
Horner worked for six years on AutoCAD and left to work for HP. He was an associate at HP (1983-1985), and a consulting engineer with Hewlett Packard Co. (1985-1989).

The first public release of AutoCAD 1.0 was in December 1982. It ran on microcomputers such as the Apple II, Commodore 64, and Microsoft DOS. It was also available as an app for the Apple Macintosh. The first product for AutoCAD was the Speedplan Express for AutoCAD. The Speedplan Express was released in 1982. The first full release of AutoCAD was in 1985.
The first release of AutoCAD for the Apple Macintosh was in 1984. The first publicly available release for the Macintosh was AutoCAD X on the Mac Plus and the Macintosh 128K. At the time, the Apple Macintosh was the first mass-market platform with an internal graphics card capable of displaying computer graphics. The Dimension Expressions (DE) language was initially introduced in 2009 and is available in AutoCAD LT, AutoCAD MEP and other tools. DE is an MDX language that allows you to create new MDX expressions. DE is also a powerful and useful tool for creating MDX for other geometry tools, especially the Advanced Query Designer and Drawing Navigator. It also supports creating MDXs for native products like the Drawing Navigator and DesignCenter.
With Version 2009, DE was extended to work with future parts of the Autodesk Exchange Apps (AEA) model.
In 2014, the DE language was updated to Version 3.0, adding more user-defined operators and new expressions.
With version 3.5 DE was renamed Dimension Expressions 3D (DE3D), and the language was further extended to allow for dynamic expressions in the same manner that MDX expressions can be. DE3D allows the inclusion of 3D geometry into DE expressions in the same way that MDX allows for the inclusion of 2D geometry. A key difference is that DE3D expressions are evaluated by the 3D Query Editor or DesignCenter in the same way that 2D MDX expressions are.
