Plot summary
The three main characters in the film are:
Brett (Armen Biller) is the narrator, a wise-cracking bank-robber who considers himself the joker in the group, but is getting fed up with the constant failure of their plans.
Jake (Rik Mayall) is the man who actually breaks into the bank and holds the teller hostage.  He is an arrogant, self-centered loser.  Jake is convinced he is both a genius and a cool customer.
Freddie (John Leguizamo) is a pathetic, overweight, slacker who speaks with a heavy Bronx accent.  He talks all the time, and is obsessed with basketball.
The three rob the bank as soon as it opens.  Jake informs Brett and Freddie of their plan, but Brett would like some of the money first.  When they reach the teller, Jake asks for $20,000, which is double the amount needed for their plan.  The teller is surprised, and suspicious.  Jake pretends to be interested in a mobile phone that the bank advertises, and the teller gives him a small amount of cash, pretending that the rest will be given to him after he makes a phone call.  Jake then demands to know the security code.  In frustration, the teller informs him that they do not use a code, since the bank is small and doesn't attract thieves.  Jake tells the teller that he only needs $20,000, that they can all use the phone when it's finished, and that they should wait for him.  He then tries to give a little more money to Brett.  Brett, however, has already left the bank.
Freddie is surprised that Brett left without giving him anything.  Jake says he is going to call Brett, and he orders Freddie to hold the teller hostage and give him the codes.  Freddie suggests they try to grab all the money from the vault.  Jake calls Brett and gives him the codes and says he'll meet him later.  When Freddie refuses, Jake forces him to sit and listens to him talk about his love of basketball.  Jake then tells Freddie he is going to the vault to see how much money is there, and to meet Brett later.  When Jake leaves, Freddie calls Brett and demands that Brett give him $20,000 to meet Jake.
