📣 Key Stage 1
YEAR 1. In Year One we have been busy writing lists, labelling pictures and reading and writing captions. We have been learning to read words with the ‘j’ and ‘v’ sounds. In Maths, we have looked at pairs of numbers that make 5 and we have practiced adding numbers together by drawing pictures and by making jumps on the number line. In Science we have learned to name some animal body parts. In Topic, we have been looking at old and new houses and naming and identifying rooms in the house.
YEAR 2. Some great highlights this week for Year 2. The children wrote their own newspapers covers for the Titanic disaster of 1912 with striking headlines and captions included. They are all hanging up in the Year 2 classroom. We also created our lists for what makes a great friend in PSHE lessons. Our depictions and labels are now part of our first internal display board. Happy birthday to Varya this week! We all enjoyed a classroom party and beautiful cake. 
EAL. This week some children from KS1 had their first EAL lessons! They enjoy learning English and exploring ways to express themselves in a new language! 
RUSSIAN. KS1 students practiced each letter- name and sounds in Russian. They also had several online activities that are helpful for building letter recognition fluency and played alphabet games. 
FRENCH. We had an interesting week in Primary. We learnt the alphabet and the sound of all the letters. It's was very funny to learnt the difference between E/O/U.
