There are two main train stations within the city centre of Glasgow (Glasgow Central Station and Glasgow Queen Street). Both stations are highly important in bringing passengers from all over the UK with frequent services running daily from both.
Glasgow Central Station - Gordon St, Glasgow, G1 3SL
Glasgow Central Station is the cities main train station with 17 platforms making it Scotlands busiest station and the 12th busiest train station in the UK. The station is fully accessible and has a variety of facilities including public toilets, ticket offices, food vendors and stores including M&S and WHSmith. There are also foreign exchange services, lost property offices and private lounges for those who have pre-booked and need a rest away from the bustling station.
The large electronic overhead boards display each train route arriving or departing from the station making it easier to track and plan your route prior to boarding.
Some routes which operate through this station are as follows:

London - 36 (direct) trains operating daily from £65.20 for an adult single travelling with the Avanti West Coast service. The journey time is approximately 4 hours 30 minutes.
Newcastle - Around 48 trains travel to Newcastle from Glasgow Central with approximately 4 direct services to the city. Prices start at £30.60 for an adult single fare on a direct route on the London North Eastern Railway service. The journey time is approximately 3 hours 10 minutes.

Glasgow Queen Street Station - North Hanover St, Glasgow G1 2AF
Glasgow Queen Street Station is the second busiest train station in Glasgow serving northern routes in Scotland. This station is fully accessible and has a variety of facilities including public toilets, ticket office, payphone and food vendor such as Luckie Beans coffee cart. Due to the station being smaller than Glasgow Central, there are no First Class lounges in this station but there are waiting areas for travellers to sit down and rest before travelling.
The station has recently been refurbished as part of a £120m deal to extend platforms, increase space for retail, improve entrances for accessibility and to make the station's appearance look better.

Inverness - Around 11 trains operate from this station daily with 5 of these being a direct route. Prices start from £23.90 for an adult single travelling on the Scot-rail service. The journey is approximately 3 hours 58 minutes.
