Myha: Return To The Lost Island

Myha: Return to the Lost Island is the spiritual successor to the cult classic puzzle-adventure series My Friend Rabbit, and as such, a lot of Myst fans should jump right on this one. The game includes features that are common in the Myst franchise, such as small islands that house clues for puzzles to be solved, in addition to a new character that players will be able to interact with.
Basically, it’s basically Myst for the iPhone. (also, it’s free for download if you want to check it out.)
Gameplay
My Friend Rabbit is a point-and-click type of game. Players will use their wits, a flashlight, and a magnifying glass to see all the clues that are scattered through the game.
The game is separated into 12 chapters, each on a different island. In those islands, players are able to explore every inch, from the beach, to the jungles, to the caves. The elements of the game (including the puzzles) get gradually harder as players progress.
Besides solving puzzles, players can be friendly with the rabbit characters that are scattered all over the world. Besides that, they’ll also be able to talk to them, and in return, they’ll be able to help them out in order to solve puzzles.
If the player wants a hint, they’ll simply tap a bunny, and the help guide will appear.
Characters
The player can have up to three other characters by interacting with them. Besides that, there’s a world map, from which players can also see clues, and other characters can be found by looking at the clues.
The main character is a young boy named Milo. He’s the only character that has his own storyline. He’s a good kid, but he also has a lot of self-doubt and anger issues. It’s up to the player to help him.
The rabbit villagers can also be befriended. They’ll be able to give you advice, and also tell you where some of the clues are at.
Environment

The year is 10,000 AD, and the days of myth and magic are over. Though the legend of the ancient sorcerer may still be whispered, the Empire of Mystacon has replaced the once-free Multani tribes with a technological utopia.
The exiles, a unique people drawn from many nations, have found a new home. But it is not on the shores of the pale blue sea or on a mountain of milk chocolate, but on the flightless island of Myha, surrounded by a desert of sand and salt.
The exiles have brought with them only the best of their past - the art of flight, the keys to the safe-houses and the precious pieces of the puzzle of the two ancient cities. And now, they have to return to the islands of their dreams.
No one in the Empire of Mystacon would be surprised to find the exiles across the sea, with the exotic treasures they have guarded for thousands of years, but the truth is that their destination is just a fantasy.
So, with all their strengths, the exiles must face the harsh reality of the Empire.

About Mystacon:
The country of Mystacon is ruled by the high priestess, Delita, who has the power to summon spirits and to view the future of the people.
She will impose a system of absolute submission and ignorance upon them, so that they live only for Mystacon and its purposes.
If your people lack courage, skill and will, then you, their leader, will succeed her as the high priestess.
You are the key to the freedom of your people, and you will train them with the power that your god, Mystacon, has entrusted to you.
In order to obtain the treasure of the black city, you will have to free the world from Delita and from the cruel empire, each with their own plans and intrigues, and their own weapons and magical powers.
But first, you must navigate the abandoned archipelagos of Myha to reach the island of dreams.

But what if it wasnt a puzzle game, what if there wasnt a limited amount of time in which to find what youre looking for, but instead you were allowed to play until youve found what you need? Thats what Myst: Return to the Lost Island delivers. Youre not running from one puzzle to the next, as in most games of this kind. Instead, you spend a good while searching a particular location or area, no matter what your quest is. And when youve found it, be it a doorknob, a flower or a blue shoe, youre no longer restricted to the small area. Your journey can take you anywhere, like in real life. But instead of having a case of Red Ball Rock heres a world to explore, explore it you will, no matter how long you spend doing it. There is nowhere to hide, no place you can run to when youre stumped. This is the feeling that youll get with Myst: Return to the Lost Island.
A fantastic Myst clone that does away with some of the series fannishisms and explores a much darker, grittier and, as it turned out, more meaningful world than the one we were used to from Myst. The game is also very suitable for beginners since it does not have a complex interface and the puzzles are not too difficult for someone to get stuck on.
My favorite part is the worldbuilding and the way that the game tells you about the history and geography of the island. The attention to detail is fantastic. It really shows that this is a world crafted by a real person and not a developer on a bad day. The locations are populated by inhabitants who are just like the ones you will meet in real life. And, of course, the artwork by Rainer Zihlmann is just stunning.
I really cant find anything negative to say about Myst: Return to the Lost Island and as such I hope you have a lot of fun playing it.4/5 Indie Game ProjectFor the love of all that is sacred in this world, stop whining about this game being a clone! Its one of the best Myst clone's ive ever played, you can call it that if you want. But don't call it a copy, it really is much more than that!
