mariadb on centos7 doesn't start when hostname is different from default one
When I start my mariadb container on centos7 without specifying hostname or command, it gets started successfully.
# docker run -d -p 3306:3306 -p 5003:5003 --name mariadb
But when I change the hostname of the container to something other than the default one, say myhost, the container gets stuck when trying to connect to the database. 
# docker run -d -p 3306:3306 -p 5003:5003 --name mariadb myhost
I have a network named mariadb, and I'm using tcp port 3306 for mariadb. I've tried giving more ports and also changing the netmask to see if it makes any difference, but it didn't work. 
I'm using mariadb-10.0.30-1.el7.centos for the image, if it's relevant. 
Is there a fix for this?

After struggling for about a day, I stumbled upon this post:
I tried every solution mentioned in the post with no luck. Then it hit me, maybe I was trying to run the container with a working host name, but it was not something I had when it was running. So I used:
RUN ln -sf /etc/docker/daemon.json /etc/default/docker
and that worked. No need to specify any host name. Just make sure you specify name in your docker run.
