News & Media Literacy

Media Literacy encourages students to ask questions about what they watch, hear, and read. It is important to think of the concept of media literacy as a key that unlocks meaning behind the messages that we see, and allows us to be more thoughtful and deliberate as we create our own messages. Media literacy is the ability to access, analyze, evaluate, create, and act using all forms of communication. Media literacy is a vital part of overall 21st century skill-building that helps to prepare students for the challenges and opportunities in the world today. (Media Literacy Week is in October)
