Tours is a city of 135 500 inhabitants and it’s area spread over 34.67 km².

It is a historical city founded at the Ist century by a gaulish people called the turone near the river Loire. It’s also very religious thanks to the saint Martin who brought the christianism culture to the city.

Since the Xth century the city was divided in two parts : on one side there is the religious center and the on the other the political one. It’s only in 1462 that a big wall was built to unified the two cities and founded the bigger city of Tours.

From the XVth to the XVIth centuries the city become the French capital and many kings have established there and built their castles.

Unfortunately the city has been harshly touched by the wars, especially the WWII where a lot of buildings have been destroyed.

Nowadays Tours is a beautiful and prosper city with a lot of students and make everybody feel home !
