Heidegger’s concern is the possibility of fully knowing the character of Dasein after it has died. It is especially enlightening that the phenomenon of death is about “Being-with” in a different sense, because Dasein is Being- with the dead, is Being-with the Other who is no longer “factically” there. 
Remember, Being-with discussed in a previous module is Being-with one another in the same world. The deceased, according to Heidegger, has abandoned “our” world. Death indeed reveals itself as a loss, but this loss is experienced by those whom the deceased left. 
Consequently, the loss-of-Being is an access that is not genuine in a sense, because we are always just “there alongside.” In the acts of grieving, funeral rites, burial, and graves, you see how the Dasein is Being-with as “there alongside” with that which is deceased.
