"Mental Health Pandemic" An analysis of how mental health is increasing due to COVID-19, and how it can affect workers.

Mental health is becoming a more prominent issue in not only America, but the entire world. Before covid, a study done in 2017 showed that around 792 million people globally lived with a mental health disorder (Ritchie and Roser 2018). Now that COVID-19 has spread at an unprecedented rate, more and more people are seeing the affects of mental health. Fear, worrying, and stress have been some of the main perpetrators of this mental health crisis, as many worry about catching the virus or spreading it to close friends and family. Other causes of poor mental health is the lack of not seeing anyone or losing that sense of connection with people. Not only did these stressors cause some issues when America went into lockdown, but some of them may even linger once things return to "normal."
