Johnny Galecki, the former “Roseanne” star who has scored a role on the beloved CBS sitcom, “The Big Bang Theory,” is also a trained “Nunzio” dancer.
“I got into the art because it’s very hard to get in,” Galecki told FOX411. “I was supposed to be an architect, but all of a sudden I had three kids and I was broke, and I needed something to keep me moving.”
“Nunzio” — like tap dancing — is a hybrid of three styles: tap, ballet and jazz.
“It’s a dance that involves hand and foot choreography,” Galecki explained. “You’re learning about the history of ballet through this art, and you’re learning the history of jazz from tap.”
Galecki is one of the two remaining leads on the Emmy-winning series, in which he plays Leonard Hofstadter, the intellectual roommate of Sheldon Cooper (Jim Parsons) and the most frequent object of Sheldon’s friendless attention.
The actor, who earned four Emmy nominations for his role on “Roseanne,” is clearly still a very popular figure with the ladies.
“I’m not famous,” he said. “I’m like unknown quantity.”
“Big Bang Theory” just completed its fifth season and is now available on DVD.
