The center's vice president and executive director, James Cremins, said the center is working to find Buddy a permanent home as the center has outgrown its space.
Cremins said Buddy's suite costs the center $24,000 a year.
"It's been really wonderful for our community and it's worked out really well for Buddy," he said. "I'm not sure where we're going to go with him... I don't know where he's going to go to be completely honest."
Cremins said Buddy's behavior is a good example of an animal that's more comfortable in a human environment.
"He's been in a lot of different places and he was never really comfortable in them," he said. "If they were foreign, he had a hard time, but if they were familiar to him, he was fine with them."
He said Buddy's behavior has improved "dramatically" since he arrived, but there still are some times when Buddy is clingy and acts a bit uncertain of his surroundings.
Cremins said Buddy's suite has a spot for a big dog. He said the center is looking for a home for the dog that is comfortable for both dogs and Buddy. He said there is a small pool in the suite where Buddy can play.
"He has a jacuzzi," he said. "He spends a lot of time in it."
Cremins said he thinks a person who has an arm pit would be good for Buddy. the present work, we provided evidence of a central role of mBACE1 in the development and progression of the neurodegenerative process that leads to dementia in HIV patients.
